I lolled at this. But so true. 100% get an accountant. It is life- and sanity-saving. I'm in my third year of full-time freelancing and I think I'm finally figuring everything out, but I will never forgo having an accountant because it's simply too confusing otherwise.
In addition to saving you time (and time is money!), a good accountant can also get you a way better refund or minimize the amount you still have to pay than you ever will. This is not a thing to skip! hahaha
Absolutely. I feel like whatever I’m paying my accountant for payroll and quarterly tax management and everything is FINE because it saves me when it comes to how they help me write things off and save money in the long wrong.
Taxes are truly the worst, and are the worst part of owning our business. Have you tried using Quickbooks online to sync your freelance spending and income? The simple plan is something like $17 a month and might save you some spreadsheet headache and your accountant can have access to it.
I get a perverse pleasure when filling my little income spreadsheet so I've never felt compelled to sync it to any of the available platforms. But if you're not a very organized person, it's really a great way to track income and expenses
Please pass on the perverse pleasure to me because I do not have it haha You are a unicorn: a creative person that also enjoys spreadsheets and understands numbers! No wonder why you're a powerhouse! <3

Oh man, I've had to train myself hard to understand numbers of any type hahaha. Thank you :)
Me admitting that I actually need to follow this advice 😒🫡
Bwahahaha happy to hold your hand while you reach out to accountants
I feel like I’m going to get swindled. Literally will Google “accountants near me” and go with the first one that pops up 🙃
