Hi, folks! I’m looking for sources for a piece I’m working on about mayo in the American imagination, especially as it relates to race and class. If you have a visceral opinion about mayo, please feel free to respond to this email or DM me with all your thoughts, whether positive or negative.
I’m also looking to conduct a couple of interviews with people who:
Have worked in the food industry (whether as a server at your local diner to CEO of Duke’s haha)
Identify as white (an important component for what I’m exploring in the article)
Strongly identify with a US region or culinary tradition (Midwest, the South, Coastal Elite, Texan, suburban, etc.)
If you’re interested in being interviewed, you don’t have to fulfill all the requirements above! But I am prioritizing those who do.
